
First acquisition in Germany expands Kaleidex into the Europe’s leading surgical instrument hub and adds specialist MDR regulatory and quality management expertise to the group
28 July 2026, London, UK / Tuttlingen, Germany: Kaleidex has acquired Meditec Source marking the group’s first acquisition in Germany and establishing a presence in the Tuttlingen medical technology cluster; widely recognised as one of Europe’s leading centres of excellence for surgical instruments and medical devices, supplying an estimated 50% of the global market.
Founded in 2011 by Martin Streng, Meditec Source is a specialist medical technology services provider supporting medical device manufacturers The company operates through three integrated service pillars: instrument development, sourcing and project management with particular technical depth in orthopaedics, traumatology and spine surgery.
The acquisition represents a significant milestone in Kaleidex’s strategy to build a leading international platform of specialist medical device manufacturers and service providers. Meditec Source extends Kaleidex’s footprint into continental Europe and adds end-to-end regulatory capability to the group’s existing strengths in precision engineering, prototyping, cleanroom assembly and specialist manufacturing.
